IKT Test Centre for Building Products

The IKT Test Centre for Building Products is a testing, supervisory and certification body accredited with the German Institute for Construction Technology (DIBt) in Berlin in accordance with European Standards (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 (Accreditation)). This covers selected mechanical and technical tests for polymeric components of pipe and CIPP liner systems, and for GRP laminate. This assures for our customers an extremely high level of technical expertise, combined with IKT’s strict independence and impartiality.

Test services

IKT is accredited with the DAkkS National Accreditation Body for tests on CIPP liners and plastics

The IKT provides the following services for network operators and product manufacturers:

On-site supervisory services (e.g. cured-in-place “CIPP”-liners)
Materials testing in accordance with local and European standards
Initial and validation testing of products and methods
Tests for national technical approvals (DIBt approvals)
Practical product and system tests for Quality Assurance
Individually tailored bespoke tests

Testing is performed on materials, products and methods of use in drain/sewer systems in IKT’s air-conditioned plastics laboratory and test building.

The IKT is a DIBt-accredited test centre for building products

The IKT Test Centre for Building Products, with its highly specialised range of equipment, is able to perform materials testing of both mineral materials and plastics. Construction and refurbishing methods can be applied to prepare test specimens at our facility and tested under practical conditions in our large-scale test facility to obtain technical approvals.

On-site supervision

The IKT Test Centre also provides on-site support for network operators, construction supervision and Quality Assurance for renovation projects. It also undertakes damage analysis and assessment of deficiencies in both renovation and new construction projects.

Focus on CIPP liners

One special focus is the evaluation of cured-in-place (CIPP) liners for sewer networks. The IKT Test Centre publishes data on the performances of both CIPP liners and contractors each year in its IKT LinerReport.
